Synopsis:
Sir Edwin Kent who rules along side Sir Oswald Bane is slain during a jousting match. Sir Oswald assumes full power and orders Kent's son Brian to undergo knight's training at the guidance of Sir Grot. Though the young Brian displays great ability, Sir Grot embarasses him in front of Sir Oswald.
When Sir Oswald's prize hawk Slasher escapes into Forest Perilous, Brian follows. The chase leads him to a suit of armor and weapons. Just as Brian finishes donning the armor, he sees two of Oswald's men harassing a pair of travelers. Brian intercedes on their behalf and fights off the knights. He does not speak lest his voice give away his identity. His silence earns him the name, the Silent Knight.
After seeing the travelers safely on their way, Brian hides the armor in the forest and returns to Sir Grot. He keeps his identity as the Silent Knight a secret.
