Comments:
Batman appears in several flashbacks in this story.
The first flashback (page 2, panels 4-5) occurs very early in his career and reveals that Barrett Kean trained Batman in the art of disguise.
The other flashbacks in this story contain no point of reference for when they occurred. It is therefore assumed that they happen immediately preceeding this story.
Synopsis:
Makeup artist and impersonation expert Barrett Bean asks his former student Batman to lecture at his new school. Lens Vorden, a photographer, takes pictures of Batman in various disguises during the lecture. He hopes to use the photos to build a composite of Batman's real face. Batman captures the gang boss that hired Vorden. Then Kean tricks Vorden by disguising himself as Batman. Vorden's plan to learn Batman's secret identity is foiled.
