Synopsis:
The Warlord rescues a girl on the streets of Shalmandar. She turns out to be Ladah Panar, a wealthy woman, who invites Morgan and Shakira to stay for the night. At her home, she shows Morgan an impressive collection of artifacts including a black diamond.

During the night, alarm bells rings. A black cat has stolen the diamond. Morgan questions Shakira, who deflects the accusation that she was involved. Later, she tracks down the real thief, Damion, her former lover who also can transform into a cat. He was hired by Imag Grann to steal the diamond. When Shakira tries to convince him to return it, Grann shoots Damion with a crossbow.

While Shakira helps the wounded thief, Warlord follow Grann. The magistrate places the stolen diamond into the eye socket of a crystal skull. It imbues a helmet that he where with telekinetic and psychic power. Morgan is able to win the ensuing fight by shooting his opponent in the head.

Elsewhere, Machiste and Mariah have been captured while on their journey back to Kiro. They are taken to an island of wizard-priests to be tortured and sacrificed.
